Meet Danielle Johnston, cancer survivor and nurse practitioner at Texas Children’s Cancer Center.
Johnston was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma at the age of 19 after doctors found a mass in her left lung. She immediately started treatment and eventually beat her cancer. Unfortunately, her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer shortly after Johnston won her own cancer battle. Even after her passing, Johnston’s mother inspired her to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse.
Johnston completed 60 hours of schooling in one year to become a nurse practitioner, saying that her goal from the start was to work at Texas Children’s Cancer Center in order to help children battling cancer. Danielle sites her own cancer battle and her mother’s battle as inspiring her to fulfill her dream of working as a nurse with sick children.
At Cadillac, we celebrate those whose passion and vision have reshaped our city, our lives and our culture - including Johnston’s courageous journey to helping others.
Her continuous passion makes her one of the innovative and driving persons shaping Houston.
