The State Fair of Texas is here! The State Fair of Texas highlights agriculture, education and community and has something to offer for the whole family. Here is your mini guide to help you prepare.

Dates and Time:

The State Fair of Texas begins September 28, 2018 and runs through October 21, 2018.

The hours of the fair are:

Sundays – Thursdays, 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.

Fridays – Saturdays, 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.

Admission:

The State fair of Texas offers season passes, combo packs and single day admission tickets. Luckily there are several ways you can purchase admission tickets as well as many neat discount options to help you save some money.

Tickets can be purchased online or can be purchased at the gate.

According to the State Fair of Texas’ official website, online tickets are $1.50 less than when you buy in person.

The State Fair of Texas has many sponsors that provide fair goers discounted admission prices. For example, every Thursday of the fair visitors can pay $9 to enter only if they bring an empty 20 oz. bottle of any Coca-Cola product. Things to do at the State Fair of Texas:

  • FREE CONCERT SERIES

Enjoy a concert at the Chevrolet Main Stage. Over the span of 24 days, 75 headliners will perform. The Chevrolet Main Stage will highlight artists from genres including rock, country, Tejano and hip-hop. The concert is FREE with the price of admission.   • ATTRACTIONS AND EVENTS

The fair offers more than 70 games and rides everyone will love. There are rides for both adults and kids. A ride the whole family can enjoy is the Texas Star® Ferris Wheel. Riders can enjoy sights of downtown Dallas from 212 feet above.

  • EAT EAT EAT

There are the classic fair foods such as corn dogs and turkey legs, but the State Fair of Texas is known for anything and everything fried. Fried bacon, check. Fried Oreos, you better believe it. A couple years ago, there were even green margaritas that were super tasty! The State Fair of Texas offers something everyone will love to eat.

  • COLLEGE FOOTBALL

College football is a classic tradition at the State Fair of Texas. This year there are three games scheduled to take place at the historic Cotton Bowl. Visit here to see which teams are battling it out this year.
